According to Baudrillard, hyper-realities are "not being able to distinguish exactly what is real and what is fiction" so that "there is no clear distinction between when the truth ends and what does it begin". Baudrillard gives the example of Disneyland. In this example, Baudrillard, who treats Disneyland as a hyperreality, states that hyper-reality has become capable of controlling thought and reality. This understanding of reality is a coherent closed system within itself. This is system works like a "persuasion machine".

In this context, when we think about aquariums as a key study, what kind of subsystems exist in the aquarium itself? Is the natural thing behind the glass just fish and plants? An unpowered aquarium can survive for a maximum of 2 or 3 days. But, we are talking about an environment that is constantly under control by electronic equipment. Instead of watching a fish swim freely in the water, I suggest watching a propeller spin according to the speed of the water. So, can this mechanical equipment create our new aquarium aesthetics?
